Caples Productions

Since its inception in the early 1980s when Craig Caples started producing commercials for broadcast television, Caples Productions has developed into one of the leading full service independent production companies and advertising agencies.

Caples Productions has produced televised sports programming, including Thursday Night Lights, Under The Desert Lights, The High School Game of the Week, SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge Off Road Race, National Water Cross events in Pahrump, Master Toddy Muay Thai Fighting, A Ring of Their Own (Female Boxing placed nationally), Crown Boxing, Tuff-N-Uff Mixed Martial Arts, UNLV Lady Rebels basketball and softball, and a wide variety of other minor league teams in Las Vegas.

The High School Game of the Week aired on Cox Cable from 1991 to 2003, and grew to include basketball, baseball and girls’ softball. By the end of the run, the schedule included over 40 games a season with a post season play-off and state games.

Caples Productions covered UNLV Lady Rebel basketball and softball for two years, and Bullring race coverage at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, broadcast on Gold 33 for seven years.

Craig Caples is a 45-year resident of Las Vegas, and has been in the broadcast industry, either on air or behind the scenes, for most of those years. While attending Las Vegas High School in the 1960s, Craig became friends with some of the pioneers of Las Vegas radio, including the first rock and roll station in Las Vegas, KENO.

While attending the University of Nevada, Reno, Craig worked for K-ONE, and later worked in broadcasting in Flagstaff, Arizona, while attending Northern Arizona University. In Las Vegas, Craig was a popular disc jockey on K-RAM before going into the army and working as an Army Photographer.

With his love of skiing, Craig became known as “Skier Craig” and reported on ski conditions on several stations during morning and drive time. He also worked at KSHO (TV 13) in productions, news and master control.

In 1976, Craig was one of only two people certified in Las Vegas to teach a Radio and Television program at the high school level, and began teaching this curriculum at Bonanza High School, helping to grow the program and mentor students with numerous job placements in television and radio stations.

Craig now devotes all of his time to Caples Productions and their many clients.
